Pot-type Steel Support
Heavy-duty bridge bearing for vertical load transfer, rotation, displacement control and seismic buffering.
Product Overview
Mainstream bearing system for large and medium span bridges
Pot-type steel support, also called pot bearing or basin rubber bearing, is a mainstream load-bearing support used for large and medium span bridges. It combines a steel pot, rubber compression block, sliding plate, stainless steel plate, upper and lower support plates and anchoring components.
Compared with ordinary laminated rubber bearings, pot-type supports provide larger bearing tonnage, stronger rotation capacity and more controlled displacement performance.
Core Functions
Designed for Load, Movement and Bridge Safety
Vertical Load Transfer
The steel pot, compression rubber block and upper and lower plates work together to bear and transfer large bridge loads safely to the substructure.
Thermal Displacement
Stainless steel sliding plates and PTFE sliding plates help the bridge adapt to thermal expansion, concrete shrinkage and long-term creep.
Beam-End Rotation
The confined rubber compression block provides flexible rotation capacity for box girders, T-girders and continuous beam systems.
Shock and Vibration Buffering
The rubber core helps absorb vehicle impact, vibration and small dynamic loads, improving bridge service comfort.
Horizontal Force Restraint
Fixed and guided types can restrain horizontal force while allowing designed longitudinal or multi-directional movement.
Seismic Buffering
Seismic pot bearings can be selected for interchange bridges, high seismic areas and projects requiring higher displacement safety.
Structure and Components
Steel pot, rubber core and sliding system in one bearing
The main components include upper support plate, lower steel pot, rubber compression block, PTFE sliding plate, stainless steel polished plate, dust sealing ring and anchor bolts.
Optional accessories include embedded anchor plate, leveling steel plate and support mortar. Anti-corrosion treatment can use sand blasting and rust removal, epoxy zinc-rich primer and topcoat.
