Adhesive materials with good performance should meet the following technical requirements:
1.High elasticity. The adhesive material must adapt to the deformation caused by temperature changes in the bridge span structure, concrete shrinkage and creep, and have elastic recovery ability
2.Temperature stability. As a part of the bridge installation, the expansion and contraction device is bound to withstand the repeated actions and impacts of various vehicle loads. Therefore, it is required that the adhesive material has strong resistance to rutting at high temperatures and is continuous with the stiffness of the bridge deck on both sides. Otherwise, it will cause vehicle jumping or bridge deck cracking, which will cause the entire expansion and contraction device to be damaged. At low temperatures, it should be flexible and not hardened or brittle.
3.Adhesive force. The size of the bonding force between the adhesive material and the two end faces of the joint directly affects the service life of the expansion device, because the embedded expansion device is different from other types of devices, and the bonding with both ends is not determined by various anchoring devices, but entirely by the bonding force between the adhesive and the end face. When the bridge deck is cold or subjected to vehicle impact and vibration, the adhesive material generates considerable tensile stress, and only the bonding force is large enough, When it is greater than the cohesive force of the material itself, interface failure will not occur.
4.Waterproof. The viscosity of the adhesive material itself is very high. When filling, it is mixed with a single particle size stone material, and the oil stone ratio is generally around 1:2-1:4. The stone material cannot form a skeleton structure, and the porosity is almost zero. In addition, the adhesive material is a composite asphalt material, which is impermeable and non absorbent, and can prevent water from infiltrating from top to bottom.
5.Durability. The adhesive shall have anti-aging and anti-corrosion properties.
